Five years ago, I made this video

Just a quick lookback to my past online activities.

I don't post video very often. But when I do, I really put some effort into making them.

I made a few funny stuffs especially in my college days when we get to prank people to "reheat the ice cream" or order boba tea "with little spice."

But the video below is a far cry from my goofiness. This is the most meaningful video I made to date.

This was during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The school I worked for celebrated its 121st founding anniversary when everyone was locked down and barred from all sorts of gatherings.

To make a virtual celebration, I asked the help of my colleagues and contacted many school alumni to submit their entries for the series of videos that would somehow lift everyone's spirits up, and I'm glad many of them did.

Each of the three videos took several weeks to complete; conceptualizing the content and video sequence ate up the biggest chunk of time.

I am only embedding the third of three videos here. You may visit the Facebook page of my former school if you want to view the first two: https://www.facebook.com/OfficialTSA1899/videos

The music I chose was "爱因为在心中" (Love within My Heart), which by itself is already inspirational. I made my own twist on the English translation of the lyrics to somehow "fit" the syllables to the notes.

Just by watching this, it should make you think about the pandemic and the disruptions it caused. And the past five years, how fast it flew!

Not significant detail, but I did not reveal full names (I even used Chinese names if the sender has one) in the video to uphold data privacy.

Can you guess which software I used to create the elements for these videos? Comment down below. 😄
